Keith Olbermann: Then and now - Glenn Greenwald - Salon.comOn January 31 of this year, Keith Olbermann donned his most serious face and most indignant voice tone to rail against George Bush for supporting telecom immunity and revisions to FISA. In a 10-minute “Special Comment,” the MSNBC star condemned Bush for wanting to “retroactively immunize corporate criminals,” and said that telecom immnity is “an ex post facto law, which would clear the phone giants from responsibility for their system

Now that my summer session course is coming to an end, I feel like I can finally take a moment to reflect on a few things. I’m coming up on six years of blogging now, which is pretty astonishing. Abu Aardvark is older than my daughter… though not nearly as cute, and almost certainly not as smart. I’m constantly surprised at how many people I meet “know” me through the blog. It’s always funny, if a bit odd, to meet graduate students or senior government officials who know that I was just

(As always, image is explained at end of post.) In America guns are in the news today. In an historic ruling yesterday the Supreme Court revisited the Constitution’s Second Amendment: “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

Picture theft notice

June 27, 2008 | Filed Under Public Domain | No Comments

Early on in my blogging ‘career’, I blogged — among other things — content theft after I discovered that some other bloggers had copied verbatem a popular blog entry of mine. Sadly, feel obliged to report that I’ve discovered that it’s happened again — this time with some photographs I took while out and about in Hong Kong. Now, I have to admit that in my early days of blogging, I too was a bit uncertain about what constituted public domain, etc., with regards to photos. But never at an
